A major five year deal sees the internationally renowned music label Ministry of Sound move to Sony DADC’s brand new Enfield distribution facility. The agreement, on a long-term manufacturing services relationship, draws on Sony DADC’s expertise in pick, pack and ship; customer service, returns management and reverse logistics.
Eddie Jones, Sales and Operations Director at Ministry of Sound said: “It was important to partner with a vendor who both shared our vision, and could provide the full range of management and fulfilment capabilities we need to deliver our packaged media business. ”
With over 50 million albums sold since its launch in 1991, Ministry of Sound houses a network of international record labels, administered from offices in London next to its world-famous nightclub. In addition to distribution services, Sony DADC will also manage telesales on behalf of Ministry of Sound to UK independent record stores.
“As a major global brand, Ministry of Sound requires a reliable and flexible service provider, capable of future-proofing evolving industry strategies and able to react quickly to any and every market opportunity,” said Sigi Obermayr, Vice President Sales at Sony DADC. “We are proud that Ministry of Sound has selected us and we are looking forward to growing their business together.”
Distribution operations will be handled out of Sony DADC’s new UK distribution centre in Enfield, North London and go live in mid February. The agreement will run until 2018.
