MPEG LA, LLC has announce that it has settled it litigation in the State of New York with VOXX International (formerly known as Audiovox Corporation).
In December last year, a jury awarded MPEG LA damages in a breach of contract lawsuit against Audiovox for being in breach of the MPEG-2 Licence. According to the ruling, the language of the licence made it clear that “the entity selling products to the end user, either directly or through a chain of distribution, was responsible for all royalties”.
