UK-based CD/DVD packaging company wewow Ltd has announced the launch of its new packaging solution: WowSpiral, produced from a single piece of FSC accredited or recycled card that folds to form a unique spiral clasp. The packaging, which requires no glue or plastic tray, is printed with vegetable-oil based inks and, says the company, provides virtually unlimited scope for creative artwork.
In order to help reduce wastage, this bespoke packaging solution is also available for short-run projects, with a low-minimum order of 100 units. Although limited-edition short-run projects are in increasing demand, clients are often forced to order a minimum of 1,000 units of bespoke packaging.
The WowSpiral case was developed specifically for Communion Records, who was seeking a creative, eco-friendly packaging solution for Peter Roe’s The Merry Go Round EP. This particular packaging concept was finished with gold-foil blocking to give it the ‘wow’ factor. Communion Records said it was “over the moon with this beautiful packaging” and has received rave reviews since releasing the EP earlier this month.
